I am here to share my experience on Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm. Lotus Herbals used to be my favourite skin care brand back in the college. The beauty store near my college campus had a dedicated Lotus Herbals counter and the sales ladies were sweet.
Naturally, we drifted towards the well stocked Lotus corner leaving the other brands behind. I was in love with the face cleansers and matte sunscreens from Lotus. Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm was also a huge hit among my friends.
I made it a point to apply this lip balm on the lips every night to fight the annoying pigmentation on the lips. Later many other brands came out with their lip care ranges and I shifted to them.
The pot I am showing you today was from last winter’s skin care purchases. I have already gone halfway through the tub. The remaining amount will be over this winter. If you are looking for a honest review on Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm, please read on.
About Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm
Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm makes your lips healthy and smooth. It moisturizes dry lips, prevents your lip skin from chapping and protects your lips from cold and dry winds.
Key Ingredients: Strawberry extract, Honey, Jojoba oil, Almond Oil, Wheatgerm oil
Packaging: This lip balm comes in a clear plastic pot. Once you open the yellow plastic lid, you can directly access the lip balm. The brand has not provided any other stopper lid. This kind of packaging is not very hygienic.
Product comes in contact with air and our finger frequently. To increase the shelf life of tub products, stronger strength preservatives are needed. Coming to the ingredient details, Lotus provides names of only the herbal actives in the cardboard flap of this lip balm.
They haven’t mentioned the base ingredients and preservatives for this lip balm.
Colour & Consistency: This lip balm looks vibrant red in the pot. However, the colour does not transfer on the lips. This is basically a transparent lip balm.
I like the thick jelly consistency. It is thicker than regular petroleum jelly. Its waxy nature moisturizes the lips well. This is a great lip balm for dry lips in winter.
Fragrance: Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm has sweet strawberry fragrance to it. The smell is very similar to food grade strawberry flavours used in confectionary. The fragrance is not overpowering.
I love strawberry flavoured candies. Naturally, the smell attracts me.
Quantity & Price: This lip balm comes at Rs.155 for 5gm. The price is comparable to lip balm sticks like Vaseline, Nykaa and Maybelline. For a pot lip balm with no tint, the price could have been lower.
On sale time Lotus runs 20-25% discount on this. If you want to try this out, wait for online deals.
My Overall Thoughts
As I mentioned earlier, this Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm used to be my go-to lip balm for college. Back then I had no idea about product ingredients, use of preservatives and other constituents. I used t pick products that smelt good, looked good and were loved by my friends.
I most cases I used to get a bad bout of acne or dry patches on my oily skin from harsh cleansers, comedogenic creams and so on. Lip products were the only things that showed some results.
Lotus Herbals Strawberry Lip Balm’s thick and moisturizing formula instantly satiated my super dry lips in winter and helped healing chapped lips in 2-3 days.
Even now I use this rigorously ad it heals chapped lips pretty fast. My mom does not like this because her lips are naturally moist. My aunt, just like me, adores this as it prevents lips to get dehydrated. I apply it in a thick layer before bed. I wake up with softer lips.
My lips often get pigmented when I skip lip balm at night. This strawberry flavour lip balm makes your lips look fuller with regular use. It does not cure pigmentation but reduces dryness induced darkness.
This is a good lip balm to try if you ignore the hazy ingredients list. I love this lip balm. Still, I will not buy another tub of this because of it. I think Lotus Herbals should disclose all the ingredients for this balm.
