Clionadh Chromatic & Spectrum Iridescent Multichromes Review & Swatches

Chromatic

Clionadh Chromatic Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow (Series 2) ($14.25 for 0.05 oz.) has a translucent base paired with multichrome shimmer and larger sparkle flecks that shifted between peach, yellow peach, gold, and chartreuse. Per the brand, it has a “translucent base that reflects peach-gold-lime.” I was able to easily detect all of the described shifts in person.

The texture was smooth, lightly emollient, and slightly dense but not too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. The product applied evenly to bare skin with a dry brush but had a bit of fallout with that method, so I’d recommend using a fingertip or a dampened brush if you want no fallout during application. It had opaque color payoff that stayed on well for eight and a half hours with slight fallout over time.

For those who find more popular Multichrome formulas (often the ones with black bases) harder to incorporate into looks, the Iridescents are some of the more versatile Multichromes I’ve come across that offer intense, shifting effects whether they’re used alone, sheered out, over an eyeliner, or patted over one’s favorite eyeshadow. They are also a bit smoother and firmly-pressed into the pan with a, generally, finer shimmer/sparkle to them, so they are less fragile and prone to fallout.

They work well with dry brushes, whether firmer or fluffier, along with fingertips and dampened brushes. The latter two methods yield more intense and metallic finishes and slightly more even application from the get-go. The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque color coverage–more from the shimmer/shift as the bases are designed to be transparent–that blended out easily and stayed on well for eight to nine hours before fading.

Spectrum

Clionadh Spectrum Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow (Series 2) ($14.25 for 0.05 oz.) has a translucent base with an intense, multichrome shift that went between bright, greenish-gold to chartreuse to minty green paired with a sparkling, metallic finish. Per the brand, it has a “translucent base that reflects warm gold-yellow-lime-turquoise.” The “turquoise” part was more chartreuse-mint green to me, not quite that blue at the tail end of the shifting spectrum.

It had a smooth, lightly emollient consistency that felt dense but wasn’t thick, so the product had good adhesion to bare skin but went on evenly. I’d recommend using a slightly lighter hand when working with it dry to avoid potential fallout, but I didn’t have issues with fallout when I used it myself. It also worked well with a fingertip or a dampened brush for even more intense coverage and finish. This shade had opaque color coverage that lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.
